50s 60s Gorgeous Black Chiffon Pat Sandler Party Dress 31b/24w
Be still my beating heart! I adore this wonderful dress, I could so see Cyd Charisse dancing like a dream in it! By Pat Sandler for highlight (a much-loved vintage label), this lovely little black dress has some issues, but is still very wearable and will enchant everyone who sees you in it.
Deep black in color, very simply designed. Appears to be all silk. A bare, sexy bodice with scooped out necklines, front and back (my apologies for the back view~this dress is very small across the bodice and would not fit any of my mannequins well). Princess seams up the bodice.
The skirt is two filmy, floaty layers of silk chiffon over a fairly full under-skirt of silk. This dress is perfect for a night full of dancing! Closes at the back with a long metal zipper.
Condition:
I would say Good. There is one 3/4-inch tear in the chiffon outer skirt, which can be mended, but I decided to pass because I'm just not that good at fixing chiffon tears. One small-ish tear in the chiffon under-skirt, again can be repaired, but really can't be seen. A couple of small holes in the chiffon near the bottom of the zipper (looks like it got caught in the zipper, so you'll need to be careful), nearly invisible. Three teeny, tiny holes at the back of the right arm, nearly invisible and could be left as-is or mended with one stitch each. A couple of fabric pulls in the chiffon; again, can't be seen except upon closest inspection, I feel they detract very little. May sound like a lot, but I've included lots of photos and if this dress fits you, you'll never want to take it off!
