40s 50s Wool Checked Handmacher Skirt Suit 38b/26w

This is a beautiful blue-gray and gold (or perhaps an olive-gold color) subtle check wool suit by Handmacher.
Very high quality wool that is a medium weight, soft and not scratchy. The jacket is curvy and princess-seamed, with a fitted waist and pockets accented with double flaps. Three buttons at each cuff. Buttons up the front with 6 fabric-covered buttons.
It is fully lined with rayon crepe in a taupe color. The skirt is an a-line and is darted at the waist. It is unlined and closes at the left hip with a metal zipper, a button and a hook & eye.
Condition:
Very Good. It would be rated EXCELLENT but for the buttons, which I have shown photos of below. Three of the buttons at the front of the jacket and 4 or 5 of them at the wrists will need to be recovered (depends on how you feel about their current appearance). Luckily, there is a great deal of extra fabric at the hem, making covering the buttons much easier (though I won't claim that it will be an easy job). I've priced it accordingly, and I consider it a great value. Otherwise, this suit is fantastic with no holes or discoloration. It's fabulous!
