40s Stunning Silk Asian Goddess Dress 36b/25w
What a beautiful gown, unique and probably one-of-a-kind. No maker's tag; it is hand-tailored, probably a custom order, and beautifully done.
The dress is silk and perhaps a silk/linen blend at the bodice. The deeply cut, scooped neckline is adorned with a wide, embroidered collar, laid over net. The embroidery appears asian/middle-eastern in design, simply gorgeous.
The bodice is deep blue with maybe the faintest hint of green in it and is darted at the bust, from the sides. Placed over the tummy is another embroidered panel which echoes the collar, done in colors of wheat, purples, blues, greens. The design contains flowers and butterflies.
The tummy panel flares into a split peplum-like flared "skirt", again containing the same colors and motif as the collar and panel and also laid over netting. Beneath this split, there is a long deep black satin skirt, with a slit at the front. Closes at the middle of the back with a long metal zipper.
This gown is stunning and you will definitely be the only one in the room wearing this beauty!
Condition:
Good to Very Good. A bit of light discoloration under the arms and across the center back over the zipper. These are very light and detract very little from the over-all appearance of the dress. A couple of picks in the satin at the front panel, detract very little if at all.
