60s Fantasy Feathers Baby Doll Set Small
Virginia Wallace, a top California designer, started her career in 1947, designing a plaid taffeta petticoat, which started a trend. In the 1960s, she also created gowns and bridal sets inspired by the couturier collections. Her pieces are relatively hard to find and I'm thrilled to offer these cunning little pieces for sale.
The color is deep, glossy peach and the nylon is high-quality, with a lovely drape. The top is trimmed with feathers at the neckline and at the flaring hem; the arms are finished with ruffled nylon. The matching low-waist panties have a fluted elastic waist/hip band, a sheer double nylon gusset and are trimmed with feathers at the legs. Of course, super sheer and soooo sexy!
Condition:
Very Good. The set appears never worn but there are four tiny pinholes in the outer layer of the gusset in the panties. They are very small and can't be seen, but they are there and I would recommend perhaps putting a stitch at each to keep them from running, or perhaps some fabric glue. This set would be fantastic for a vintage pin-up photo shoot.
