Ethereal Belgian Designer Kaat Tilley Fairy Tale Dress Small

She's an amazing Belgian fashion designer with what seems to be unlimited artistic inspiration and expression. She also paints and creates jewelry and furniture. She designs for theatre and musical productions. Katt studied at the St. Lukas Institute Antwerp and Brussels and then went on to graduate from the Royal Academy of Antwerp in Fashion and Stage Costume Design. She designed one of the Fashion Rooms at the Royal Windsor Hotel in Brussels. I think there's nothing she can't do!
Not vintage, but don't let that stop you! This lovely set was purchased in a boutique in California. Actually, it's two pieces sold separately, but I've decided to sell them as a set. Skinny skinny double spaghetti straps. Bordered in black at the neckline, the fabric travels in rows down the front and back, creating a boned look (there are no bones). The crinkly, gossamer chiffon is embroidered with swirly bunches of flowers. The dress is lined with deep black satin and the crinkled chiffon over the satin creates a beautiful crushed velvet look, at least to my eye. Corset lacing at the back. Hourglass shaping at the top of the dress flows into a full, floaty skirt, which in addition to the black satin lining, has a netted crinoline and then yet another layer of satin, as a short, short layer to add more body to the skirt. A beautiful hemline with each layer making an appearance. Fully lined and exquisitely made. Closes at the front with 16 chiffon-covered buttons. The dress originally sold for $3,595.00 and has never been worn.
The wrap is comprised of the same fabric as the dress, with the black border and black swirled flowers. It originally sold for $465.00 in the boutique and has never been used.
The fabric used for these pieces are polyamide and acetate. The original price tags are still attached to each piece. I'm selling them here for less than 1/2 the original selling price, which is such a steal!
This dress is fit for a princess and will be perfect for a Valentine's Day party, prom, or any special occasion and will be a treasure for years to come.
Condition:
Excellent. Neither piece has ever been worn and the original tags are still attached. The fourth button down from the top of the dress is showing a bit of fraying at the chiffon but does not detract.
