Anna Miller was the sister of designer Maurice Rentner. She was not the designer of her label, however. The designer at Anna Miller in the late 1940s was Earl Luick, who had been a Hollywood designer in the 1930s and early 1940s. Bill Blass was hired as an assistant in 1949 (some sources say 1946) and became the head designer in the early 1950s when Luick returned to Hollywood. In 1959 the company became part of Maurice Rentner and Blass was made head designer there. - Information obtained from Vintage Fashion Guild

This is a gorgeous Anna Miller dress and I predict that it will become one of your favorite dresses. Deep black wool (some of the photos have been lightened to show detail). Curvy cut, princess seams. The scooped-out neckline is embellished with a bow and a cut-out beneath.

Great finishing at the back, with ten non-working buttons placed over a long metal zipper. Lined with a light nylon chiffon fabric, this beauty has wonderful details such as snaps in the shoulders (for hanging), hand-placed zipper and an inner "belt" of tape placed at the waist.

Condition:

Very Good. Looks seldom worn. There was one very small hole at the front, left, near the waistline, which has been mended and it is virtually invisible. Other than that, great.
