A very cool artifact from the late 60s. This set looks like something you might have been able to order from the Frederick's mail order catalogue: they had lots of groovy clothing in addition to their lingerie. There's no maker's tag (though the RN led me to the information that the manufacturer was a company called "Sprite of California, Inc."); that tag is what led me to my musings about Frederick's. The song "Harper Valley PTA" is playing in my head while I list this.

Made of 100% acetate, this set is dark chocolate brown and the fabric is slightly textured. It's unlined and the fabric isn't scratchy at all. There is some stretch to the fabric (see measurements).
The actual "hot pants" is a short jumper-suit that zips up the front with a long plastic zipper. There's a matching belt that's big, wide and with a huge silver buckle. The matching vest is long and embellished with silver studs; the shoulders are cut wide as are the arm openings.

All this set needs is you and a pair of boots.

Condition:

Very Good. I'd say excellent, but the belt has a few bends in it. Other than that, it's in unworn condition.
