40s 50s Bubbles on Pink Long Gown 44b X-Large
Wow, what a gorgeous and unusual piece! I believe this is nylon, rather than rayon and it has a "taffreda" feel to it; that is, it's got a little more body and less slinky-ness to it than the usual nylon.
No maker's tag, but very well made, probably commercially. Pale pink in color, this pretty gown has a scalloped neckline that's piped in baby blue, and a deeply v'd back. Embroidered with stylized round flowers (which remind me of bubbles, hence the title) done in pastels of blues and pink, with green leaf accents.
Very roomy arm openings make this beauty super-comfortable. Self-belt ties at the back. The skirt is long and flow-y with godets set in at the hemline. Pinked seams. Just beautiful.
Condition:
Very Good. There are a few teeny pinholes at the right shoulder and an approximately 2" pull in the fabric at the back of the skirt, near the bottom. These are all nearly invisible and won't be noticed without careful examination. Otherwise, the gown appears unworn.
