Vintage 50s Silver Lace Sparkle Party Dress 35b/26w
Such a pretty dress, you'll be the center of attention while you're wearing it! No maker's tag, but commercially made.
The fabric is nylon and acetate and is made of silver-threaded ivory lace over mauve-pink taffeta. Skinny spaghetti straps. Rhinestone-studded lace appliques surround the neckline. Darted bust, piping at the waist. The skirt is full (though not a circle skirt) and is lined with taffeta and a netted crinoline. It's shown here withOUT an additional crinoline, which could be used to give a fuller silhouette, worn over the existing crinoline. Closes at the back with a long metal zipper.
Condition:
Good. The very palest bit of a small stain at the front, nearing the waistline at the left of the skirt. Very nearly invisible and you'd have to hunt carefully to find it. I feel it detracts very, very little. There are very light stains on the taffeta under-skirt, on the front. They don't detract visually because they can't be seen beneath the crinoline and the lace (and they have been treated so not yucky). Many of the rhinestones have darkened, but they still glimmer. I've priced the dress lower because of these issues-it is very pretty and still very wearable!
